ATTRACTIONS AND THINGS TO DO
A holiday in the prime location of Rock in North Cornwall, no matter what
the season, suits all ages, tastes and interests. It offers beautiful
coastline views and sandy beaches dotted with rock pools at Daymer Bay,
Rock and Greenaway - perfect for families. There's the surfers' paradise
at Polzeath plus all the fishing, sailing and water sports in the broad
tidal lagoon of the Camel Estuary. Spectacular cliff top walks along National
Trust owned coastline can be enjoyed by serious hikers as well as those
looking for a peaceful amble. Plus delightful visits to the picturesque
fishing village of Port Isaac or Padstow where Rick Stein offers his culinary
delights alongside a charming harbour bordered with art galleries and
shops.
There are a wide variety of birds to be spotted around the Camel Estuary,
or easy bike rides along the old Camel railway route. Further afield are
numerous National Trust properties and gardens - Lanhydrock, Trerice,
Trelissick Garden and Tintagel plus of course the wonders of the Eden
Project and the Tate at St Ives, all within a day's outing.
Another attraction is the range of challenging golf courses to play on.
Rock is home to the famous and notoriously difficult St Enodoc course
and nearby can be found Trevose Head, Llanhydrock and Roserrow.
